Target Advance LLC alleged to have 'robocalled' man to solicit services

Phone 09

LOS ANGELES – A Chatsworth man alleges a company unlawfully called him using an autodialer in an attempt to solicit its services and has filed a class-action suit.

Edward Makaron filed a complaint individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated on Aug. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Target Advance LLC and Does 1-10 alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in February, he was contacted by the defendant in an effort to sell or solicit its services for business loans using an artificial or prerecorded voice. The plaintiff holds Target Advance LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly did not have the plaintiff's consent to call him and that the plaintiff has never been a customer.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunctive relief prohibiting such conduct in the future, damages and other relief that the court deems just. He is represented by Todd M. Friedman and Adrian R. Bacon of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman in Woodland Hills.
