LOS ANGELES – The Westlake Village company that manufactures MigreLief alleges a Texas company's supplement infringes its patented composition.
Akeso Health Sciences LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Family Tree Remedies LLC alleging patent infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Family Tree Remedies LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly distributes and sells its Preventa Migraine product, which the plaintiff claims infringes at least one claim of its '450 patent for a composition for treating migraines.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, all legal fees and interest, increased damages of three times as compensatory damages, and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Shawn G. Hansen of Nixon Peabody LLP in Los Angeles.
