LOS ANGELES – A Hacienda Heights company and Vernon company are alleged to have manufactured fabrics bearing the copyrighted designs of a Los Angeles company without permission.
Unicolors Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against NB Brother Corp., Sally K. Group Inc., doing business as Leggings Depot and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds NB Brother Corp., Sally K. Group Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly reproduced plaintiff's EH101 design and incorporate it into their fabrics, which they distributed through online and retail stores, without authorization from the plaintiff.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's designs, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just.
