Former Chemtrade employee alleges disability benefits were wrongfully terminated

Insurance 03

LOS ANGELES – A former operations specialist with Chemtrade Refinery Services alleges his disability benefits were wrongfully terminated.

Steven Stanley filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Life Insurance Co. of North America alleging violation of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he initially received benefits from the defendant until the benefits were terminated in July 2015. The plaintiff holds Life Insurance Co. of North America responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay disability benefits to the plaintiff despite having sufficient medical proof to support his claim.

The plaintiff seeks award benefits plus interest, determined that the plaintiff is entitled to future disability benefits, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. He is represented by Frank N. Darras, Lissa A. Martinez, Susan B. Grabarsky and Phillip S. Bather of Darras Law in Ontario.
