LOS ANGELES – A North Carolina company claims a Huntington Beach restaurant and the owner of a mobile entertainment business used counterfeit karaoke tracks.
Phoenix Entertainment Partners LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Shooters Bar Inc. and Tice Griffin alleging trademark infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the manufacturer of Sound Choice karaoke tracks. The plaintiff holds Shooters Bar Inc. and Griffin responsible because Griffin allegedly used counterfeit Sound Choice products and was contracted by Shooters to transport the products to its venue.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award profits and damages, treble damages, punitive damages, enhanced damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Aric N. Williams of Aric Williams Law in Miami, Florida.
