SAN FRANCISCO – Two businesses allege a Redwood City competitor is using misappropriated information.
Tapgerine LLC and TapMedia LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against 50Mango Inc. and Does 1-10 citing Uniform Trade Secrets Act.
According to the complaint, the defendant's principals were former employees of TapMedia. The plaintiffs allege that they believe the defendant had full access to its trade secrets and misappropriated it to form a competing company, thereby causing plaintiffs to suffer injuries to their business. The plaintiffs hold 50Mango Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendant allegedly acquired or used plaintiffs’ trade secrets by improper means, and used plaintiffs' trade secrets to obtain profit.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant, damages of more than $75,000, injunctive relief, attorney's fees, costs and other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Derek A. Newman and Sophy Tabandeh of Newman Du Wors LLP in San Francisco.
