Xerox alleges East Whittier schools owe for leased equipment

LOS ANGELES – A school district in the state is alleged to owe several thousand dollars on leased office equipment.

Xerox Corp. filed a complaint on Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against East Whittier City School District alleging breach of written agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Xerox Corp. suffered monetary damages to its business. The plaintiff holds East Whittier City School District responsible because the defendant allegedly breached its contractual obligation by failing to make its monthly payments to the plaintiff for leased equipment.

The plaintiff seeks principal sum of $466.28, sum of $6,468.73, sum of $564.81, sum of $53,014.16, sum of $4,644.48 and sum of $101,944.24, plus interest at the rate of 18 percent per annum for all; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Robert V. McKendrick and Pamela L. Cox of Hemar, Russo & Heald LLP in Encino.
