LOS ANGELES – A Nebraska woman employed by a Beverly Hills company alleges her claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.
Colleen McCoy filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against The Prudential Insurance Co. of America and WME Employee Welfare Benefit Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, she became disabled due to the effects of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and other medical issues. She alleges she applied for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds The Prudential Insurance Co. of America and WME Employee Welfare Benefit Plan responsible because the defendants allegedly denied plaintiff's application for disability benefits despite being disabled according to the terms of the plan.
The plaintiff seeks payment of all disability benefits due to her, pay all past due benefits and future monthly benefits all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Glenn R. Kantor of Kantor & Kantor LLP in Northridge.
