LOS ANGELES – A Pennsylvania software company claims a Westlake Village company is using its Web spokesperson video technology without permission.
Live Face on Web LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Free My Paws Inc., Jason Michaels and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Free My Paws Inc., Michaels and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used and distributed infringing versions of plaintiff's software on their website.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks permanent injunction against the defendant, award damages to the plaintiff, pay the plaintiff for all profits derived from the infringing act, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Imran F. Vakil of Nexio PC in Costa Mesa.
