Twin River Casino accused of sending unwanted text messages

Phone 09

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County consumer alleges a casino headquartered in Rhode Island continues to send her unwanted text messages.

Victoria Kissel filed a complaint on Nov. 17, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Twin River Management Group Inc., doing business as Twin River Casino, and Does 1-10 alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, she consented to receive text messages from the defendant but later withdrew consent. The plaintiff holds Twin River Management Group Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to send text messages to the plaintiff after she requested multiple times for the messages to cease.

The plaintiff seeks statutory damages, injunctive relief, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Scott J. Ferrell and Victoria C. Knowles of Pacific Trial Attorneys in Newport Beach.
