Woman alleges Liberty Life Assurance wrongfully denied disability benefit claim

Insurance 09

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County woman alleges her claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

Beatrice Verdi filed a complaint on Nov. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston and Wells Fargo & Co. Long Term Disability Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, she became disabled and applied for disability benefits but was denied. The plaintiff holds Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston, Wells Fargo & Co. Long Term Disability Plan responsible because the defendants allegedly denied plaintiff's application for disability benefits despite having sufficient medical proof to support her claim.

The plaintiff seeks payment of disability benefits to plaintiff, reinstatement, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Glenn R. Kantor and Andrew M. Kantor of Kantor & Kantor LLP in Northridge.
