Show Ready accused of not paying employee contributions to labor union funds

LOS ANGELES – Trustees for labor union funds allege a trade show exhibit designing company has failed to pay contributions.

Board of trustees of the Southern California Local 831 Employer Health Fund, et al. filed a complaint on Nov. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Show Ready LLC, Douglas Murphy and Does 1-10 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the Labor Management Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from unpaid and late paid contributions. The plaintiffs holds Show Ready LLC, Douglas Murphy and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their bargaining agreement with the plaintiff by failing to make monthly contributions to the plaintiff on behalf of their employees.

The plaintiffs seek delinquent contributions due plus interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and audit expenses, plus any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Anthony R. Segall and Michelle Sherer Ancheta of Rothner, Segall & Greenstone in Pasadena.
