CEP America LLC alleges Zotec Partners failed to properly handle billing services

Contract 01

SAN FRANCISCO – An Emeryville company alleges an Indiana company it hired to handle its billing did not fulfill its responsibilities.

CEP America LLC filed a complaint on Nov. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Zotec Partners LLC alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 26, 2015, it entered into a billing services agreement with the defendant to collect account receivables on behalf of the plaintiff. The plaintiff alleges the defendant breached its duties by failing to adequately perform its responsibilities under the agreement. The plaintiff holds Zotec Partners LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to timely submit and/or follow up on claims submitted to payers and failed to provide timely and accurate claim information to patients.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, damages, costs of suit and further relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Philip F. Atkins-Pattenson and Julie A. Bauman of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP in San Francisco.
