Johnny Trading alleged to have unlawfully used Tyger Manufacturing's patented pipe design

Patents 06

SAN FRANCISCO – A Los Angeles company is accused of infringing a patented pipe design.

Tyger Manufacturing LLC filed a complaint on Feb. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Dharm Chadha, doing business as Johnny Trading, alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it sustained substantial damages as a result of defendant's manufacturing and selling smoking pipes that unlawfully copied plaintiff's '487 patent. The plaintiff holds Chadha responsible because the defendant allegedly designed the pipes from the plaintiff's design with knowledge of the plaintiff's rights in the patent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, enjoin and restrain defendant from further infringement, damages, impound or destroy infringing products, monetary damages, attorney's fees, costs, and other relief as the court may deem just. It is represented by Mark B. Mizrahi of Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin LLP in Los Angeles.
