LOS ANGELES — A former car dealership employee is suing The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, Bowen Scarff Ford Lincoln Long Term Disability Benefits Plan, citing alleged breach of contract for withholding long-term disability benefits.
David Scott of West Sacramento filed a complaint on March 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the defendants alleging that they refused to pay plaintiff's disability.
According to the complaint, Scott alleges that, in 2013, he sustained damages when his claim for long-term disability was denied. The plaintiff holds Northwestern Mutual responsible because it allegedly denied plaintiff's disability claim without properly considering all the evidence presented by the plaintiff.
The plaintiff seeks owed disability benefits, back benefits, injunctive relief, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Jesse S. Kaplan of Carmichael.
