Georeplica Corp. alleged to have unlawfully copied digital map

SANTA ANA – An Irvine company alleges that a Florida corporation unlawfully copied one of its products.

Digital Map Products Inc. filed a complaint on April 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Georeplica Corp. alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it authored a work titled Digital Map Products SmartParcel National Coverage Database (excluding Florida). The plaintiff holds Georeplica Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly created unauthorized copies of SmartParcel.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages that exceed $3 million, interest, enjoin the defendant, damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Paul A. Tyrell and Sean M. Sullivan of Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP in San Diego.
