Richard Hancock Inc. alleges it is owed more than $170,000 for construction work

SAN FRANCISCO – A licensed contractor alleges it was not paid for work it performed on a project.

Richard Hancock Inc. filed a complaint on March 30 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Build Group Inc., Alta Laguna LLC, Regents of the University of California, HSBC Bank USA National Association, Westchester Fire  Insurance Co. and Does 1-100 alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it and Build Group entered into a written contract in 2014 for services related to framing and rough carpentry on a project. The plaintiff holds Build Group Inc., Alta Laguna LLC, Regents of the University of California, HSBC Bank USA National Association, Westchester Fire Insurance Co. and Does 1-100 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their agreement with the plaintiff by not paying it for its work.

The plaintiff seeks principal sum not less than $172,659.35, interest, all legal fees, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by J. Michael Murphy, Gregory Engelsman and Alison Roades-Brown of Murphy, Logan & Bardwell in Napa.
