Star Fabrics Inc. alleges 64893 design was unlawfully used for clothing

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles corporation alleges one of its textile designs was unlawfully used.

Star Fabrics Inc. filed a complaint on April 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Intro Fabric Inc., L'Patricia, Iberia Fashion LLC, SW Group LLC and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its 64893 design copied. The plaintiff holds Intro Fabric Inc., L'Patricia, Iberia Fashion LLC, SW Group LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold or manufactured garments made out of fabrics that bear plaintiff's design without authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and Howard S. Han of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
