LOS ANGELES – A South Korean company alleges one of its textile designs was unlawfully used by some companies located in California.
NS Int'l Textiles filed a complaint on April 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Charming Style Inc., doing business as Sun & Moon; Lemon Tree Inc.; Cicindelae Inc., doing business as Orangeshine; Vanilla Monkey LTD; Jin Hee Kang Lee, doing business as Jenny Pattern; and Trendy Style Wholesale and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its NS016 design copied. The plaintiff holds Charming Style Inc., doing business as Sun & Moon; Lemon Tree Inc.; Cicindelae Inc., doing business as Orangeshine; Vanilla Monkey LTD; Jin Hee Kang Lee, doing business as Jenny Pattern; and Trendy Style Wholesale and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold or manufactured garments made out of fabric that bears plaintiff's design without authorization.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
