Patient alleges injuries after injection of gadolinium-based contrast agent

SAN FRANCISCO – A Whittier resident alleges she was injured by a contrast agent.

Amanda Loop filed a complaint on April 4 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Inc., Bayer Schering Pharma AG, Bayer Corp. et al. alleging negligence, fraud: misrepresentation and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she developed Gadolinium Deposition Disease after being injected with Gadovist and/or Omniscan. The plaintiff holds Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Inc., Bayer Schering Pharma AG, Bayer Corp. et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the serious health risks associated with gadolinium-based contrast agents.

The plaintiff seeks injunction against the defendant, compensatory damages, past and future medical expenses, income, economic damages, punitive damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by C. Brooks Cutter, Todd A. Walburg and Margot P. Cutter of Cutter Law PC in Oakland.
