FRESNO – A Fresno corporation alleges property valued at more than $500,000 was unlawfully taken by former tenants.

Evans Electric Service filed a complaint on April 17 in the Fresno County Superior Court against the Passmore Automotive Distributing, Passmore Interprises Inc., Brett Passmore and Does 1 to 20 alleging conversion, fraud and unfair business practices.

According to the complaint, the defendants contracted with the plaintiff to rent a building in Fresno, which the plaintiff also uses as storage for an inventory of auto parts valued at $560,000. The suit states the defendants vacated the property on March 27.

The plaintiff holds Passmore Automotive Distributing, Passmore Interprises Inc., Passmore and Does 1 to 20 responsible because the defendants allegedly took $550,000 of the plaintiff's property when they left.

The plaintiff seeks damages, repossession of the converted property, compensation for the time and money expended, punitive and exemplary damages, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Barry E. Weber of Barry E. Weber in Clovis.
