Former Community Hospitals employee claims she was fired for reporting unlawful practices

FRESNO — A former employee is suing Community Hospitals Central California various individuals with the organization, citing alleged retaliation and wrongful termination.

Jaspal Dosanjh filed a complaint on April 19 in the Fresno County Superior Court against the defendants alleging that they violated the California Labor Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff, who worked for the defendant from 1994 until this March, alleges that she has suffered and continues to suffer substantial economic losses and employment benefits, emotional distress, humiliation and embarrassment because of defendants' actions. The plaintiff holds Community Hospitals Central California responsible because it allegedly subjected plaintiff to an adverse employment action and treatment and retaliated against her by terminating her employment for reporting and opposing unlawful staffing practices.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, reinstatement to her job, costs of suit, attorneys’ fees and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Shelley G. Bryant and Amanda B. Whitten of Bryant Whitten LLP in Fresno.
