Former Monsieur Benjamin employee alleges she was subjected to harassment, retaliation

SAN FRANCISCO – A former line cook for a San Francisco County restaurant alleges that she was sexually harassed during her employment.

Katherine Ward filed a complaint on April 12 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against CLR Bistro LLC, doing business as Monsieur Benjamin; Santos Ramirez; and Does 1-100 alleging harassment, retaliation and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from being sexually harassed by Ramirez during her employment. She alleges that Ramirez was terminated on Oct. 4, 2016, the same day she reported the continued harassment, and that she was ostracized by the staff following his termination. The suit states she resigned on Nov. 2, 2016.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks special and economic damages, consequential damages, general damages, punitive damages, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Randall E. Strauss and Jayme L. Walker of Gwilliam, Ivary, Chiosso, Cavalli & Brewer in Oakland.
