Tenant alleges wiring, kitchen in apartment were installed without proper permits

SAN FRANCISCO – A tenant alleges an apartment she rented was unfit for human occupation because it is unsafe.

Jennifer Price filed a complaint on April 10 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Mary Souza, individually and as trustee of the Mary Souza Revocable Trust, and Does 1 through 10 alleging negligence, breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges rented a property on Deming Street in San Francisco from the defendants. She alleges that wiring systems, water supply and waste lines, the kitchen and other properties were installed in the apartment without the proper permits.

The plaintiff holds Souza and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain the premises in a safe condition and in compliance with applicable statutes, laws and codes.

The plaintiff seeks actual, general, and special damages; incidental expenses; lost benefits; treble damages; all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Andrew E. Westley of Law office of Andrew Westley in San Francisco.
