SAN FRANCISCO – An equipment operator alleges he suffered burns after a gas line exploded while he was working.

Ismael Arreazola filed a complaint on April 14 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against PG&E Corp., Pacific Gas & Electric Co., Sheriff's Foundation for Public Safety Inc., Fresno County Peace Officers Association and Does 1-20 alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 17, 2015, he sustained significant injuries to his body as result of the natural gas transmission pipeline's explosion beneath his work vehicle. The suit states that he was working as a heavy equipment operator for the County of Fresno Public Works and Planning Department at the time and suffered burns to 40 percent of his body.

The plaintiff holds PG&E Corp., Pacific Gas & Electric Co., Sheriff's Foundation for Public Safety Inc., Fresno County Peace Officers Association and Does 1-20 responsible because defendant PG&E allegedly failed to properly design and install the gas pipeline and defendants FCPOA and SFPS failed to inspect and maintain the gun range that the pipeline traveled through.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees and costs and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Dario de Ghetaldi, Amanda L. Riddle and Sumble Manzoor of Corey, Luzaich, de Ghetaldi, Nastari & Riddle LLP in Millbare.
