FRESNO – An African-American employee alleges his former dual Fresno employers terminated him because of his race.

Lestee Ceasar Jr. filed a complaint on April 28 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Cold Spring Granite, Express Employment Professionals and Does 1-10 alleging that they violated the Fair Employment and Housing Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was hired by the defendants in February 2016 as a safety engineer. He alleges that five weeks later, he was terminated because of "cultural differences" with Hispanic employees. He alleges he has suffered and will continue to suffer loss of income and benefits, humiliation, emotional distress and mental anguish.

The plaintiff holds Cold Spring Granite and Express Employment Professionals responsible because the defendants allegedly subjected plaintiff to discriminatory action and terminated his employment based upon his race.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory and general damages plus interest. He is represented by Monrae L. English of Wild, Carter & Tipton in Fresno.
