Employee claims Geil Enterprises failed to provide rest, meal breaks

FRESNO – An employee of a janitorial products and services and security services company has filed a class action over allegations of labor code violations.

Juana Reynoso, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on May 2 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Geil Enterprises Inc. and Does 1 through 20 inclusive alleging that the defendants violated the California labor codes.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that she other employees failed to receive required meal periods/rest breaks or payment of one additional hour of pay for those interrupted meal breaks and failed to receive overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in workweek. 

The plaintiffs holds Geil Enterprises Inc. and Does 1 through 20, inclusive responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime compensation, failed to provide meal periods, failed to permit rest breaks, failed to reimburse business expenses and failed to provide accurate itemized wage statements.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for general, special and liquidated damages; attorney's fees, costs of suit; and such other relief as the court deems just and proper.
