SAN FRANCISCO – A man formerly employed at the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant in Avila Beach for more than 30 years alleges he was wrongfully terminated.
Peter Bedesem filed a complaint on April 17 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and Does 1 through 25 alleging discrimination, retaliation and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that his disability, age and association with a disabled person (his wife) contributed to his termination in January on pretexual reasons. The plaintiff holds Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and Does 1 through 25 responsible because the defendants allegedly refused to provide proper accommodation to the plaintiff to address his condition and instead terminated his employment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual, consequential and incidental damages; general and compensatory damages; reinstatement; punitive damages; interest; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Carol L. Gillam and Sara Heum of The Gillam Law Firm in Los Angeles.
