LOS ANGELES – A textile converter in the apparel industry alleges one of its designs was used without authorization.
Jitrade Inc. filed a complaint on May 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Style Up Collection Inc., doing business as Dorcas; Eun Sam Park; Dong Hun Kim, doing business as G1K; and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages from having its SND1606_1H design copied without its consent. The plaintiff holds Style Up Collection Inc., doing business as Dorcas; Eun Sam Park; Dong Hun Kim, doing business as G1K; and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold or manufactured garments made out of fabrics that bear plaintiff's design.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, all profits, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
