LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles jewelry and accessories business is suing a California competitor, alleging copyright infringement and unfair competition.

Chrome Hearts LLC filed a complaint Aug. 11 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Daiso California LLC of Hayward and Does 1-10, alleging they used a confusingly similar mark to advertise their products.

According to the complaint, Chrome Hearts suffered damages to its business and reputation from having a similar product being sold to the public that also bears their mark. The plaintiff alleges the defendants sell confusingly similar reproductions of the plaintiff's products.

Chrome Hearts seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendants from further infringing the plaintiff's products and trademark, order the defendant to recall and deliver up for destruction all infringing products, an accounting of all gains, profits and monetary advantages, all compensatory damages, statutory damages, treble damages, interest, legal fees, and all other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys Brent H. Blakely and Cindy Chan of Blakely Law Group in Manhattan Beach, California.
