Phone 09

SACRAMENTO — A Sacramento man has filed a class action lawsuit against a debt collection company, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Ali Abdullah-Ezzani filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Aug. 23 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Northwood Asset Management Group LLC and Does 1 through 10, alleging they called the plaintiff several times in an attempt to collect an alleged debt, violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, in April, Abdullah-Ezzani suffered damages from receiving several illegal collection calls. The plaintiff alleges the defendants kept on calling his cellular telephone despite his requests to stop.

Abdullah-Ezzani seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Todd M. Friedman of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills.
