Couple accuses Fresno hospital of medical negligence

FRESNO — A couple are suing a Fresno hospital and its physicians, alleging medical negligence and breach of duty.

Sharron Wolfe and James Wolfe filed a complaint Aug. 24 in Fresno County Superior Court against Fresno Surgical Hospital and Does 1 through 100, inclusive, alleging the defendants failed their duty to adhere to the standard of care for health professionals rendering services to patients.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 12, 2016, Sharron Wolfe sought and received consultation, diagnosis and treatment from the defendants, and each of them, for an injection. Wolfe says she was not properly diagnosed.

As a result, the suit says, Wolfe suffered additional injuries and the need for subsequent remedial treatment. The lawsuit states she was prevented from attending her usual duties as wife to James Wolfe and became liable for medical expenses.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to properly consult with, diagnose and treat the patient, failed to properly care for Sharron Wolfe after the injection and failed to order proper tests and advise patient of the necessity of more frequent follow-up tests.

The Wolfs seeks trial by jury, general damages, special damages, costs of suit and all other relief the court deems just. They are represented by attorney James McCallion of Law Office of James McCallion in Laguna Beach.
