LOS ANGELES — A Los Angeles County woman has filed a class action lawsuit against a hiring agency, alleging violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Carolyn Navarro of West Covina filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Sept. 25 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kelly Services Inc. and Does 1-10, alleging they violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act through intrusive and unwanted calls.

According to the complaint, since May, Navarro and other similarly situated recipients have suffered from invasion of their privacy and intrusion on their seclusion, from receiving a barrage of unwanted calls from Kelly Services in its attempt to promote or sell its services.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants continued to make calls despite Navarro's explicit demand to stop the improper calls as well as her enrollment in the National Do Not Cal Registry. She says the plaintiffs contacted her without her prior express consent.

Navarro seeks trial by jury, $500 in statutory damages and $1,500 in treble damages for each and every violation, and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Todd M. Friedman of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills, California.
