Couple blames motorist for crash that injured husband

Car accident 42

FRESNO — A couple is suing a motorist, alleging negligent driving caused a crash that injured the husband.

Nathan S. Willems and Nancy Willems filed a complaint Oct. 6 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Terry J. Simmons Sr., and Does 1-50, alleging Simmons negligently maintained, drove and operated the vehicle, causing it to collide with another motorist, leading to injuries and damages.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 12, 2015, Nathan S. Willems was driving his 2005 Honda Odyssey at Mountain View Avenue in Fresno County when Simmons, driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, collided with Willems' vehicle.

As a result,  Willems sustained severe physical injuries that left him and his wife, Nancy Willems with medical expenses, and deprived her of the care, comfort, services of her husband.

The plaintiffs allege Simmons failed to keep careful lookout, failed to yield right-of-way and failed to operate vehicle in a reckless manner so as to cause collision to another vehicle.

The Willemses seek trial by jury, general, special and property damages, costs of suit, and all other relief the court deems just and proper. They are represented by attorney Dennis F. Minna of Law Offices of Dennis F. Minna in Mission Viejo.
