FRESNO — A Fresno County private security business is suing a former employee, alleging tortious interference and unfair competition.

Vigilant Private Security Inc. filed a complaint on Oct. 31 in Fresno County Superior Court against Daniel Zamore, and Does 1 through 25, alleging the defendants breached the conditions, covenants, promises, and obligations required during employment agreements by using confidential business information without consent.

According to the complaint, in 2015 Vigilant issued an employment agreement with Zamora that contained provisions restricting him from disclosing or misusing VPS’ confidential personnel and business information with which he was entrusted.

The suit says prior to his termination March 28, 2017, Zamore stole confidential and proprietary business information, violating the contract agreement.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants misappropriated the company's confidential documents and information for recruiting purposes and/or for purposes of unlawfully securing business  and disclosed Vigilant's confidential information to competitors without permission.

Vigilant Private Security seeks trial by jury, general and specific damages of more than $25,000, compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, and all other relief the court deems proper. It is represented by attorneys Alexei Kuchinsky and William P. Klein of Klein Law Group LLP in San Francisco.
