Fresno motorist blames another driver for causing crash, injuries

Car accident 38

FRESNO — A Fresno motorist is suing another driver, alleging negligence caused a crash that injured the plaintiff.

Emanuel E. Warner filed a complaint Nov. 1 in Fresno County Superior Court against Howard William Sugden, Kathleen Sugden and Does 1-30 , alleging they failed to exercise standard care and skill required in operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 30, 2016, Warner was driving near West Clinton Avenue and North Teilman Avenue in Fresno. The suit says Howard William Sugden, driving a car owned by Kathleen Sugden, negligently entrusted, owned, maintained, repaired, equipped, and operated the vehicle in such a way as to collide with Warner's vehicle.

As a result of the crash, Warner says he sustained injuries and damages, suffered lost wages, loss of use of property and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle so as not to cause harm, and failed to be on a proper lookout for other vehicles.

Warner seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages of more than $25,000, costs of suit and all other fair and just relief. He is represented by attorney Vernon J. Reynolds of Law Office of Darryl B. Freedman Inc. in Fresno.
