Former employee accuses dentist of wrongful termination

FRESNO — A Fresno woman is suing a dentist, alleging retaliation and wrongful termination.

Alejandra Blanco filed a complaint Nov. 27 in Fresno County Superior Court against Dr. David J. Wright and Does 1-20, alleging they violated labor law.

According to the complaint, Blanco began working for Wright on July 25, 2016. until she was fired Nov. 8, 2016. The suit says Blanco suffered physical, emotional and economic harm, caused by defendants’ wrongful conduct of subjecting her to unwarranted discipline and the unlawful termination her employment. 

Blanco said she suffered retaliation for seeking time off Oct. 30, 2016, to attend to her ill daughters.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants engaged in reckless disregard of Blanco's legal rights under the labor code, and retaliated against the plaintiff for exercising her rights.

Blanco seeks trial by jury general, special and exemplary damages, interest, reinstatement, costs of suit, attorney fees and all further relief the court deems just. She is represented by attorney Shelley G. Bryant of Bryant Whitten LLP in Fresno.
