LOS ANGELES – A Vernon textile converter alleges a City of Industry corporation unlawfully used its design.

Ghodooshim & Son Inc. filed a complaint on Dec. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Shein Fashion Group Inc., Yangtian Xu and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the owner and author of a two-dimensional artwork known as 20256, which it has registered with the U.S. Copyright Office.

The plaintiff holds Shein Fashion Group Inc., Yangtian Xu and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly purchased, sold, marketed, and/or manufactured fabric or garments with the plaintiff's artwork without authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, award all of defendants' profits, interest, costs of litigation and further relief as the court deems proper. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong of Ghodooshim & Son Inc. in Los Angeles.
