FRESNO — A Fresno County man is suing his former spouse, alleging fraud, deceit, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Ronald Nelson filed a complaint Dec. 15 in Fresno County Superior Court against Linda Vasquez and Does 1-20, alleging she caused him to suffer damages and losses of more than $200,000.
According to the complaint, Nelson has suffered injury from the loss of valuable properties in Alameda and Sanger. The suit says his losses resulted from the false representation of his former wife that he had died, allowing her to seize sole title to their jointly owned property. Instead, the lawsuit states, it was Nelson's namesake son who had died Jan. 21, 2014.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants have stolen Nelson's joint tenancy interest on a property by utilizing his deceased son's death certificate.
Nelson seeks trial by jury, general and compensatory damages of not less than $200,000, exemplary and punitive damages, attorney fees, costs of suit, injunctive relief and all further relief the court deems just.
