A consumer sues debt collector

SAN DIEGO — A San Diego County consumer is suing a debt collectors, alleging misrepresentation and negligence.

Beau Vincelli filed a complaint Jan. 10 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against AAA National Credit Reporting Corporation and NSI Services LLC, doing business as The Crosby Centers, alleging an attempt to collect an alleged debt from the plaintiff that was the wrong amount.

According to the complaint, Vincelli was financially damaged from being compelled to retain an attorney and proceed with a defense regarding the complaint that was filed against him. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inform AAA National regarding payments that Vincelli had made to them before transferring his account.

Vincelli seeks trial by jury, statutory damages of $1,000, court costs, punitive damages and all further relief the court grants. He is represented by attorneys Yana Hart of Hyde & Swigart APC in San Diego, and by Abbas Kazerounian of Kazerouni Law Group APC in Costa Mesa.
