LOS ANGELES — A South Korea textiles corporation is suing Avenue Stores, alleging copyright infringement.
NS Int'l Textiles filed a complaint Jan. 8 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Avenue Stores LLC and Does 1-10, alleging they violated laws through unauthorized distribution of an intellectual property.
According to the complaint, NS Int'l Textiles has sustained and will continue to sustain substantial and irreparable injury, from the defendants’ unauthorized manufacture, reproduction, distribution, selling and exploitation of plaintiff’s copyrighted two-dimensional artwork for use on textiles called "NS061”.
The plaintiff alleges holds Avenue Stores caused substantial confusion on the part of the public, and profited from the illegal reproduction, importation, purchase, marketing, advertising, distribution and/or sales of product featuring the plaintiff's copyrighted design.
NS Int'l Textiles seeks trial by jury, all profits from infringement, attorney fees, interest, costs of litigation and all legal and equitable relief the court deems proper. It is represented by attorney C. Yong Jeong of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
