Turtle Creek Asset accused of misrepresentation in debt collection

Late 06

SAN DIEGO — A consumer is suing Turtle Creek Asset, a debt collector , citing alleged misrepresentation in a debt collection.

Morgan Salmon filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against Turtle Creek Asset alleging that the debt collector made false representations to the plaintiff regarding his debt.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 19, 2017 he received several collection calls regarding a debt he owed six years before. The plaintiff holds Turtle Creek Asset responsible because the defendant allegedly threatened the plaintiff with legal action should he fail to pay his debt.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages of $1,000, court costs, punitive damages, and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law, LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
