Passenger blames Princess Cruise Line for injuries

LOS ANGELES — A passenger is suing Princess Cruise Lines. alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Diane Geiger filed a complaint Feb. 2 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Princess Cruise Lines Ltd., Dr. Jacobus D. Venter and Dr. Shannon D. Callaway, alleging they failed to follow applicable safety guidelines and regulations.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 4, 2017, Geiger was aboard the Ruby Princess when when she tripped and fell due to her foot being caught in a defective bed covering. The suit says Geiger sustained a fractured right wrist, plus shock and injury to her nervous system, mental, physical and emotional pain and suffering.  

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to advise her of the need for immediate emergency surgical intervention and failed to medically evacuate Geiger from the vessel to obtain further prompt and proper care.

Geiger seeks trial by jury, general damages, medical expenses, interest, costs of suit and all other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Michael G. Rix of Law Offices of Michael Rix in Valencia.
