LOS ANGELES — Two consumers have filed a class action lawsuit against Ken's Foods, alleging false advertising.

Erikka Skinner and Ann Kenney filed a complaint, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, Feb. 1 in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ken's Foods Inc. and Does 1-10, alleging they sold products that were wrongly labeled.

According to the complaint, Skinner, Kenney, and other consumers have lost money as a result of the defendants’ unfair and fraudulent conduct. The suit says Ken's Foods labeled and advertised its salad dressing products as made from extra virgin and imported olive oil, as opposed to the cheaper ingredients of soybean and canola oil.

The lawsuit states the salad dressing actually did contain soybean and canola oil.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants disseminated misleading claims regarding the existence of olive oil in the products, and introduced a deceptive product into the stream of commerce.

The plaintiffs seeks trial by jury, an order certifying this a class cation, appoint plaintiffs as co-class representatives, and designate the plaintiffs’ counsel as counsel for the class, plus all forms of relief, punitive damages, attorney fees, court costs, and all just relief. They are represented by attorneys Ryan J. Clarkson, Shireen M. Clarkson and Bahar Sodaify of Clarkson Law Firm PC in Los Angeles.
