Tenants alleges San Francisco unit was fraudulently marketed as legal

Contract 06

SAN FRANCISCO – Two individuals allege the unit they rented in San Francisco was illegal and that their landlord failed to make repairs.

James Ledane and Monika Krueger filed a complaint on March 13 in the Superior Court of California - County of San Francisco against Danqing Ye and Does 1 through 10 alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on March 14, 2013, they signed a written agreement to pay $2,090 per month to rent of one of defendants' property units and lived there until September 2017. The plaintiffs allege Ye fraudulently represented that the rental unit was legal and claims that throughout their tenancy, the unit lacked basic characteristics necessary for human habitation, such as heating and defective plumbing.

The plaintiffs hold Ye and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to legalize the unit and was not diligent in repairing the defective conditions.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for general and special damages, attorney's fees, costs of suit, prejudgment interest, and for such other and further relief as the court may deem proper. They are represented by Mark Hooshmand and Eric Kim of Hooshmand Law Group in San Francisco.
