LOS ANGELES – The manufacturer of Ray-Ban eye wear alleges a Tarzana business is selling counterfeit products.
Luxottica Group S.p.A. filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against FY Eye Optometry Center Inc., Sol Regwan and Does 1-10 alleging trademark infringement and other counts.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants have displayed and/or sold counterfeit Ray-Ban products.
The plaintiff holds FY Eye Optometry Center Inc., Regwan and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly utilized plaintiff's internationally recognized trademark without consent or permission from plaintiff on counterfeit products.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for injunctive relief; award treble, punitive and statutory damages; attorneys’ fees; interest amounts; costs; disbursements; and/or attorneys’ fees, and other relief as may be just.
