Smart Carte, employee named in suit by woman who alleged she was struck with carts, injured

SAN FRANCISCO – An Orange County woman alleges she was injured in an airport when she was struck by several carts.

Shirley Wangrud filed a complaint on March 21 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Toan Xa, Smart Carte Inc. and Does 1-100 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 14, 2016, she was seated at a curb at the San Francisco Airport when Xa, during the course and scope of his employment with Smart Carte, struck Wangrud with several carts. She alleges she was caused to fall and was injured.

The plaintiff holds Xa, Smart Carte Inc. and Does 1-100 responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently managed and controlled the carts in a way to collide with the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for general, compensatory, special and consequential damages; costs of suit; interest; and further relief as the court may deem just. She is represented by David J. Koppelman of The Barnes Law Firm LC in Los Angeles.
