SAN FRANCISCO – A Contra Costa County consumer alleges that a GMC vehicle he purchased has defects with its steering system.

Richard Spencer filed a complaint on April 2 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against General Motors LLC and Does 1-10 alleging breach of express written warranty and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff purchased a 2012 GMC Acadia from Lehmer's Concord Buick GMC in October 2011 that was manufactured by General Motors. He alleges the vehicle was covered by a warranty and that during the warranty period, the vehicle developed defects in its steering system, power steering pump, air conditioning system and more. He alleges General Motors knew of the steering defect since 2010 and concealed and failed to disclose the defect.

The plaintiff holds General Motors LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants and/or its representatives have failed to repair the vehicle to conform with its warranties and has failed to replace the vehicle or make restitution.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, award of actual damages, restitution, civil penalty, consequential and incidental damages, interest, punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs, interest, and other relief as may be appropriate. He is represented by Jacob Butler and Tionna Dolin of Strategic Legal Practices APC in Los Angeles.
