Man alleges inaccurate information regarding Nissan account has harmed credit score

LOS ANGELES – A West Hollywood consumer alleges he has lost credit opportunities and his credit score was harmed because of inaccurate information on his credit history.

Theodore Siegel filed a complaint on April 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Equifax Information Services LLC and Nissan-Infiniti LT over alleged violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants have been reporting derogatory and inaccurate statements regarding his credit history to third parties. He alleges in December 2017, he disputed the inaccurate information with defendants about the "repossessed" status with his Nissan account. He alleges the inaccurate information has not been removed.

The plaintiff holds Equifax Information Services LLC and Nissan-Infiniti LT responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to comply with the requirements imposed on a consumer credit reporting agency.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for actual, statutory and punitive damages; costs and reasonable attorney’s fees; and such other and further relief as may be just and proper. He is represented by Stephanie R. Tatar of The Tatar Law Firm in Burbank.
