SACRAMENTO – An Arizona woman alleges she could not reserve an Americans with Disabilities Act-accessible room online for a Davis hotel.

Theresa Brooke filed a complaint on May 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Royal Ganesh LLC, doing business as University Park Inn and Suites and universityparkinn.com, alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff uses a wheelchair and requires an ADA-accessible room. She alleges she attempted to reserve a room at the defendant's hotel online but the defendant did not allow the option of reserving those rooms online. She also alleges the defendant does not advertise it has ADA accessible rooms online.

The plaintiff holds Royal Ganesh LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to operate an online reservation system that permits patrons to reserve ADA-accessible rooms without the restriction in time and manner and failed to make its website fully accessible to a disabled person.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for damages, order closure until full compliance with the ADA, and other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Peter Kristofer Strojnik of The Strojnik Firm LLC in Phoenix.
